Y.A.M. Tunku Laxamana Tunku Dato’ Seri Utama Naquiyuddin Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Ja’afar

The eldest son of Almarhum Tuanku Ja’afar ibni Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman (19 July 1922 – 27 December 2008), who was the tenth Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King) of Malaysia (26 April 1994 until 25 April 1999) and Ruler of Negeri Sembilan, Y.A.M. Tunku Naquiyuddin read International Politics at the University College of Wales in Aberystwyth and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours in Economics from the same college.
Y.A.M. Tunku served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was posted as the 2nd Secretary with the Malaysian Embassy in Paris. Y.A.M. Tunku later headed Antah Holdings Berhad as its Chairman, which was vacated for a 5-year period during his tenure as the Regent of Negeri Sembilan from 1994 to 1999.
His vast experience in the business world has earned him recognition worldwide with interests spanning a broad spectrum, including power, infrastructure, mining, healthcare, and biotechnology.
Besides serving as Executive Chairman of Antah HealthCare Group, he sits on the Board of four public companies – Orix Leasing (M) Bhd., Kian Joo Can Factory Berhad, Sino Hua-An International Bhd, Ann Joo Resources Bhd, and more recently Olympia Industries Bhd. Y.A.M. Tunku was also a Council Member of the Business Council for Sustainable Development, a Geneva-based organisation, Founder and Head of the Federation of Public Listed Companies Berhad, Council Member of the Canada-ASEAN Centre, and nominated to the Committee of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange where he served from 1989-1994.
He is Pro Chancellor of Malaysia’s second oldest university, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
